During the visit, Tran Thanh Man laid a wreath and observed a minute of silence to honor Phomvihane, whom Vietnamese officials described as an outstanding leader and loyal comrade who significantly advanced the strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos.

Tran Thanh Man met with General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith to convey condolences from Vietnamese leaders, including State President To Lam. President Thongloun Sisoulith expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that the gesture demonstrated the deep bonds of fraternity and solidarity between the two nations. Both leaderships pledged to continue enhancing cooperation across all fields, specifically emphasizing parliamentary relations, to ensure the enduring nature of the Vietnam-Laos relationship.
