Indian Navy Completes Maritime Security Exercises in Philippines

The Indian Navy completed its participation in the 23rd ADMM-Plus Experts' Working Group on Maritime Security Joint Cooperation Activity in Subic Bay, Philippines. The exercises, which ran from September 21 to September 26, were hosted by the Philippine Navy and co-chaired by Japan.

Stealth frigate INS Sahyadri and missile corvette INS Kulish engaged in a Harbour Phase of expert exchanges and a Sea Phase of coordinated operations. These activities included Maritime Domain Awareness, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Maritime Interdiction Operations, Replenishment at Sea, Visit, Board, Search and Seizure, Search and Rescue, and hydrographic surveys. Indian personnel also conducted cross-deck visits on the JS Ise and HMAS Perth to enhance interoperability, aligning with India's Act East Policy and MAHASAGAR vision.

Simultaneously, the sail training ship INS Sudarshini arrived in Alexandria, Egypt, on September 23 as part of the Lokayan 26 transoceanic expedition. Received by Rear Admiral Mohamed Abdel Aziz, the ship is conducting professional interactions with the Egyptian Navy to strengthen maritime ties. The 10-month expedition began in Kochi on January 20 and is scheduled to cover 22,000 nautical miles across 13 countries.
