Entergy Louisiana Launches $2 Million Utility Bill Credit Program
Entergy Louisiana is providing one-time $100 bill credits to eligible low-income and ALICE households through a $2 million shareholder-funded initiative administered by United Way.
Entergy Louisiana launched a $2 million statewide utility bill assistance program on October 28, 2026, to provide one-time $100 credits to eligible residential customers. Funded by shareholder dollars, the initiative targets approximately 750,000 of the company's 1.3 million Louisiana customers, specifically those living at or below the federal poverty level and ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households.
The program is designed for working families who earn too much to qualify for traditional government assistance but still struggle to afford basic necessities. Administration of the credits is handled through the Louisiana Association of United Ways and its local chapters. In South, Central, and Southwest Louisiana, United Way Southwest Louisiana processes applications, while the United Way of Northwest Louisiana manages the rollout for residents of Bienville, Claiborne, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, and Webster parishes.
Eligible customers are notified via email and must provide documentation including a valid photo ID, proof of income such as 2025 tax returns, W-2 forms, or recent pay stubs, and a recent utility bill. While applications will generally be accepted as long as funds remain available, residents in Northwest Louisiana face a closing application window on November 13, with a final documentation deadline of November 20.
