Oxfordshire County Council Proposes New Public Rights of Way

The Oxfordshire County Council issued a modification order under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 to potentially add a 27-metre footpath from The Green and a 174-metre bridleway from High Street to the public map. The order was made on June 30 and remains open for public inspection at Wychwood Library and online, with a deadline for objections set for September 4.

In a separate effort to improve road safety, the council implemented speed limit reductions on several roads, including those adjacent to the A4074. These changes became effective July 24 as part of the local government's Vision Zero road safety strategy.

Additionally, National Highways Limited established a new clearway order on the A34 between the Peartree and Wendlebury Interchanges. Effective August 1, this order bans stopping, waiting, and parking along that specific stretch of the highway.
