Home Depot CEO Ted Decker Takes Medical Leave

Ted Decker, Chief Executive Officer of Home Depot Inc., is taking a temporary medical leave of absence expected to last several months. In a memo to employees sent Wednesday, Decker stated the decision was made in partnership with his doctors.

To maintain operations during his absence, Senior Executive Vice President Ann-Marie Campbell will oversee day-to-day activities. Chief Financial Officer Richard McPhail will manage financial operations and subsidiaries that serve professional contractors, while independent lead director Greg Brenneman will chair the board.

Decker has led the Atlanta-based retailer since 2022, during which he managed a slowdown in the U.S. housing market driven by high borrowing costs. The company is scheduled to report its quarterly earnings on August 18.
