Tesla Patents Electric Fan System for Roadster 2.0

Tesla received a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for an Electric Fan Car system shortly before the scheduled reveal of the Roadster 2.0. The technology utilizes four electric ducted fans positioned side by side within the vehicle's rear diffuser.

The system is designed to increase downforce and reduce drag, which the company claims improves stability during braking and grip during cornering. The fans can be operated manually by the driver or managed by an automatic control system.

This patent follows previous reports suggesting the redesigned Roadster might possess limited flying capabilities.
