Pakistani Forces Kill Eight Militants in Balochistan Raids
Pakistani security forces killed eight militants and seized 490 kilograms of explosives during three intelligence-based operations in Balochistan.
Pakistani security forces killed eight militants during three intelligence-based operations on October 17 across the Quetta, Nushki, and Khuzdar districts of Balochistan. The Inter-Services Public Relations identified the deceased as members of Fitna al-Hindustan, a group the military described as an Indian proxy.
In Quetta's Panjpai area, forces killed five militants who were attempting to establish a roadblock. Two additional militants were killed during a raid on a hideout in Nushki, and one was killed in Khuzdar. During the Khuzdar operation, security forces recovered 490 kilograms of explosives.
Asif Ali Zardari, the President of Pakistan, praised the operations and stated that "the conspiracies hatched by terrorists’ foreign patrons and their local facilitators would be decisively thwarted." The military noted that these raids are part of the broader counter-terrorism campaign conducted under the Azm-i-Istehkam vision.
