Meta Launches Your Algorithm AI Customization for Facebook

Meta Platforms, Inc. began rolling out a new AI-powered feature called Your Algorithm for Facebook on October 13, 2026. The tool allows users to customize their Feed and Reels recommendations by describing their content preferences in natural language, moving beyond traditional engagement signals like likes and comments.

Users can access these controls through a dedicated space or a three-dot menu on individual posts. By selecting interested or not interested, users may be prompted with follow-up questions to refine recommendations in real time. The platform utilizes large language models to interpret the intent and context behind these freeform text prompts, combining them with existing activity signals to update the user experience.

This rollout follows similar implementations on Instagram and Threads, where a related tool called Dear Algo was introduced. While the feature is deploying gradually, reports indicate it is not yet available to users in India. The shift is part of a broader strategy to integrate large language models into recommendations across the company's platforms and advertising.
