India Quick Commerce Market Projected to Reach $90 Billion
Google and Redseer project India's quick commerce market will grow seven-fold to $90 billion by FY31 as platforms expand into electronics and beauty.
A report by Google and Redseer Strategy Consultants projects that India's quick commerce market will grow nearly seven-fold, increasing from approximately $13 billion in FY26 to $90 billion by FY31. Monthly transacting users are expected to exceed 100 million nationwide by FY31, with metro areas driving about 60% of that incremental growth. In these urban centers, quick commerce is forecast to capture between 20% and 23% of retail spending, up from 6%.
Near-term momentum is driven by the current festive season, where sales are expected to rise 110% year-on-year and account for 18% of all online festive spending. To maintain this trajectory, the report indicates that platforms must shift from small top-up orders toward monthly household pantry replenishment.
Expansion into non-grocery categories such as beauty, personal care, and electronics is central to this growth. These categories are projected to increase from $3 billion in FY26 to between $21 billion and $27 billion by FY31. Karan Dugal of Google India noted that purchase behaviors are shifting dramatically across both metro and non-metro areas, moving beyond essentials to include high-ticket electronics.
