Azerbaijan Signs 11 Investment Deals at Second International Forum
Azerbaijan signed 11 cooperation agreements in sectors including digital economy and green energy during the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum in Baku.
The Government of Azerbaijan signed 11 cooperation documents with foreign partners during the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum held on September 25-26, 2026, in Baku. Organized by the Ministry of Economy and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency in partnership with The European House – Ambrosetti, the event secured deals in renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, construction, and the digital economy.
Key agreements include a digital economy partnership with Microsoft, solar and wind energy projects with ROX Group, and the acquisition of a non-controlling stake in Azər-Türk Bank by the Azerbaijan-Oman Private Equity Fund. President Ilham Aliyev opened the forum, stating that the nation's strategy prioritizes technology, innovation, and expertise over simple capital attraction. He noted that the inaugural forum resulted in over 10 billion US dollars in agreements, with 7 billion US dollars dedicated to the non-oil sector.
Discussions at the Baku Congress Centre focused on the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor, the Zangezur Corridor, and the role of artificial intelligence in creating new income sources. Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov highlighted the trust foreign companies have in the country, noting that most choose to reinvest their profits locally. International participants, including economist Nouriel Roubini and UK Lord Tariq Ahmad, discussed the impact of regional stability and the peace process with Armenia on opening new markets.
