Deepinder Goyal Proposes Temple Wearable for Pilot Fitness Checks
Deepinder Goyal announced that his Temple wearable device could assess the fitness of pilots and military personnel before high-stakes missions.
Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal announced that his upcoming wearable device, Temple, could be used to monitor the fitness of pilots and air force personnel before they begin missions. Goyal proposed these applications on social media following a FlyDubai incident involving a co-pilot who allegedly attempted to crash a flight.
The device uses BrainFlow technology and a PPG sensor to monitor blood flow to the brain, which Goyal suggests can help identify the fittest personnel for critical tasks in high-stakes environments. He noted that the device is not intended for users under 18, with the exception of Olympic athletes.
Beyond fitness monitoring, Goyal revealed that his research team is developing thoughts-to-text technology to read user intent. He expects this capability to be integrated into the third or fourth version of the Temple product.
