Apple Moves Up iPhone Duo Delivery Dates

Apple Inc. revised delivery estimates for iPhone Duo pre-orders in the United States and Japan, with some devices arriving weeks earlier than expected.

Apple Inc. revised estimated delivery dates for iPhone Duo pre-orders in the United States and Japan, with some customers seeing arrival dates move forward by several weeks. The adjustments follow a period of high initial demand that had pushed some delivery estimates into late January.

In the United States, some buyers reported December delivery dates shifting to November. In Japan, some customers saw December estimates move to as early as October 23. These improvements appear limited to customers who ordered directly from the company and may not apply to those who purchased through third-party retailers or mobile carriers.

Apple has not officially explained the cause of the shifts. It remains unclear whether the changes are the result of increased production capacity, improved inventory allocation, or more accurate shipping forecasts.
