Coles Group Outsources Corporate Roles to Accenture
Coles Group is shifting several hundred corporate roles to Accenture to reduce costs and enhance digital capabilities, with many positions moving to India.
Coles Group is expanding a multi-year outsourcing partnership with Accenture to shift several hundred corporate roles to the consultancy's Australian and overseas offices. Many of these positions, which span finance, human resources, marketing, and technology functions, will move to India.
The company stated the move is intended to reduce costs and strengthen the digital and specialist capabilities required to meet customer expectations for personalized digital experiences. While Coles did not confirm the exact number of impacted positions, it noted that the changes affect a small portion of its 115,000 employees and will not impact in-store staff.
Coles claims it will remain a net-creator of Australian jobs through ongoing store expansion. The company has committed to redeploying, reskilling, or retraining affected team members where possible.
