Hungary Unemployment Rate Rises to 4.8 Percent

The Hungarian Central Statistical Office reported that Hungary's unemployment rate rose to 4.8 percent during the June-August period. This figure marks an increase from 4.6 percent in the May-July period and 4.4 percent during the same timeframe last year.

The total number of unemployed individuals grew to 234,700, up from 225,000 in the previous three months. Data for the month of August specifically showed an unemployment rate of 4.7 percent, compared to 4.5 percent in July.

Despite the rise in joblessness, the overall employment rate saw a slight increase, moving from 65.5 percent to 65.6 percent.
