Teejay Yusuf Urges Atiku to Resolve ADC Internal Crises

Former lawmaker Teejay Yusuf challenged Atiku Abubakar to address leadership failures within the African Democratic Congress rather than blaming the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Former House of Representatives member Teejay Yusuf challenged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to resolve internal leadership and structural crises within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) instead of blaming the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The disagreement follows allegations by Atiku that INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan was appointed specifically to weaken opposition parties by sowing division.

Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Yusuf dismissed Atiku's claims, arguing that political disputes originate from internal organizational failures rather than external regulatory interference. He stated that attacking electoral institutions without evidence undermines public trust and urged political actors to prioritize accountability and issue-based campaigns leading up to the 2027 general elections.
