American Business Association Reestablishes Leadership in Liberia

The American Business Association in Liberia inducted a new leadership team to strengthen commercial ties and investment between the United States and Liberia.

The American Business Association in Liberia, Inc. (ABAIL) reestablished its institutional presence on August 20, 2026, during an induction ceremony for its new leadership team and Board of Directors at the Royal Grand Hotel in Monrovia.

President Abraham Avi Zaidenberg pledged that the association would serve as a bridge between the private sector and the Liberian government to improve the investment climate. U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Joseph E. Zadrozny inducted the officials and identified critical advocacy priorities, including digital infrastructure, modernized land records, and transparent procurement to support American-linked businesses in agriculture and critical minerals.

Minister of Finance and Development Planning Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan delivered the keynote address, highlighting the government's progress in public-private partnerships. He specifically cited the new national PPP Policy and a $365 million PAVIFORT highway agreement as evidence of economic transformation. Vice President Jeremiah Koung also attended the event to express support for the strengthened business ties between the two nations.
