ADNOC Deploys AI as Aramco Profits Surge Amid Tensions
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company partnered with OpenAI to integrate AI into operations while Saudi Aramco reported record profits despite regional attacks.
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) signed a deal with OpenAI and G42 on November 3, 2026, to deploy the Frontier platform. This partnership makes ADNOC the first energy company to utilize the technology for commercial operations and oilfield development, a move intended to strengthen industry resilience against geopolitical supply disruptions.
The announcement took place during the annual ADIPEC energy conference in Abu Dhabi. While leaders from BP, Baker Hughes, and Halliburton attended, the CEOs of ExxonMobil and Chevron withdrew from the event citing security concerns following reports of renewed U.S. strikes on Iran.
Simultaneously, Saudi Aramco reported a 34.5% increase in third-quarter net profit, reaching $36.25 billion. The company achieved these gains despite a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and Houthi attacks on its facilities. Aramco CEO Amin Nasser announced that the company plans to return to full production capacity during the fourth quarter.
