Jeff Bezos Plans Future Blue Origin IPO After $10 Billion Raise

Jeff Bezos announced Blue Origin will likely pursue an initial public offering in several years following a $10 billion funding round from outside investors.

Jeff Bezos announced that Blue Origin will likely pursue an initial public offering in the coming years. The decision follows a funding round in which the space company raised $10 billion from outside investors for the first time. Bezos has personally invested $28 billion in the company since its founding in 2000, and recent reports value the firm at $140 billion.

While Bezos stated that a public listing is several years away, he noted that it would eventually make sense for the company to be public. This financial shift comes as the company works to regain momentum in the commercial launch market to compete with SpaceX.

Blue Origin is currently preparing to resume New Glenn launches by December 2026. These efforts were previously delayed by a launch-pad explosion during a static-fire test in May.
