Airbus Maintains 870 Aircraft Delivery Target Despite Mixed Earnings
Airbus SE maintained its annual delivery target of 870 aircraft after reporting a third-quarter adjusted operating profit of 1.77 billion euros.
Airbus SE maintained its full-year production plans and delivery target of approximately 870 aircraft on Wednesday. Reaching this goal would mark the highest annual tally in the company's history, though it requires a record fourth quarter to achieve.
Third-quarter earnings were mixed, with an adjusted operating profit of 1.77 billion euros. However, revenue fell 2% to 17.47 billion euros, missing analyst estimates. The company also recorded a negative free cash flow of 1.27 billion euros since January, driven by increased inventories. While Airbus reports that supply-chain pressures have begun to ease, CEO Guillaume Faury stated the company remains focused on delivery and quality against a complex geopolitical and operating environment.
This stability contrasts with the performance of rival The Boeing Company. Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg recently announced that the U.S. manufacturer would miss its key production and jet delivery targets for the year.
