Samrat Choudhary, the Chief Minister of Bihar, led an orientation program for ministers and legislators in Patna to promote the integration of artificial intelligence and digital technology into state governance. During the session, the chief minister emphasized that AI is essential for balanced development, efficient administration, and improved public outreach.
Choudhary highlighted that the state government already utilizes AI to implement welfare programs, including farmer surveys and ration card distribution. He reported that AI-driven reviews of construction estimates have successfully reduced project costs by 5-7%. To further increase transparency and execution speed, the chief minister launched a new digital portal to monitor projects under the Chief Minister's Area Development Scheme.
The training for lawmakers also covered the ethical implications of AI adoption, as well as cybersecurity and data protection. Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar participated in the session, which aimed to enhance the working capacity of Bihar's legislators through these emerging technologies.
