Oklahoma Voters Cast Ballots in High-Stakes Primary Runoffs

Oklahoma voters return to the polls on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, for primary runoff elections to determine the state's nominees for governor and the U.S. Senate. In the Republican race to replace term-limited Governor Kevin Stitt, State Attorney General Gentner Drummond and former state Senator Mike Mazzei are competing after neither candidate secured a majority in the June primary. President Donald Trump has endorsed Mazzei. The winner of this runoff will advance to the general election to face Democratic state House Minority Leader Cyndi Munson.

Simultaneously, the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate features a runoff between nurse N'Kiyla Jasmine Thomas and attorney Jim Priest. The winner of this contest will challenge Republican U.S. Representative Kevin Hern in the general election.

Beyond the candidate races, voters will decide on two statewide ballot measures. State Question 846 proposes adding a voter identification requirement to the state constitution, while State Question 844 addresses local government reimbursements for lost property tax revenue.
