Mamata Banerjee Threatens New Delhi Protests Over TMC Office Attacks

Mamata Banerjee threatened to protest at BJP leaders' homes in New Delhi after alleging that 4,000 TMC offices across West Bengal were looted or occupied.

Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee threatened to stage protest demonstrations in front of the residences of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in New Delhi following widespread attacks on Trinamool Congress offices. During a Facebook Live address on Thursday, Banerjee condemned the vandalism of the TMC office on Camac Street in Kolkata, which serves as the office of General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

Banerjee alleged that BJP-backed individuals looted equipment and documents and tortured four party workers while local police failed to intervene. She claimed that nearly 4,000 TMC offices across West Bengal have been forcibly occupied or looted since the recent assembly elections. Additionally, she accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of rigging the Bengal Assembly election.

While Banerjee accused the police of targeting opposition workers and promoting lawlessness, police officials reported the arrest of six people in connection with the Camac Street incident. Banerjee also criticized the current state government for spreading misinformation regarding her security arrangements.
