BMW Adds M60 Performance Trims to Neue Klasse Lineup

BMW introduced M60 performance versions of the i3 saloon and iX3 crossover, featuring 603 horsepower and high-speed charging capabilities.

BMW expanded its Neue Klasse electric vehicle lineup with the introduction of the M60 performance trim for the i3 saloon and iX3 crossover. Both models utilize a dual-motor powertrain that delivers 603 horsepower and 875Nm of torque.

The i3 M60 is expected to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 149 mph, while the iX3 M60 reaches the same speed in 3.9 seconds. To support this performance, the i3 M60 features a 112kWh battery pack with 400kW peak charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in roughly 20 minutes.

Visual updates for the M60 series include unique wheels, M Sport interior enhancements, and redesigned lighting with optional yellow daytime running lights. These models act as a bridge to future flagship electric vehicles, including a quad-motor M3 and a potential quad-motor iX3 capable of exceeding 1,000 horsepower.
