Karnataka Bank Net Profit Rises 43 Percent in First Quarter

Karnataka Bank reported a 43 percent increase in first-quarter net profit to 419 crore rupees, driven by business expansion and improved asset quality.

Karnataka Bank reported a 43 percent year-on-year increase in net profit for the first quarter of 2026-27, reaching approximately 419 crore rupees compared to 292 crore rupees in the previous year. The bank's net interest income rose to 938 crore rupees, while gross advances grew 17 percent to 86,610 crore rupees.

Financial stability improved as the gross non-performing assets ratio dropped from 3.46 percent to 2.58 percent, and the net NPA improved to 0.87 percent. The bank's Capital to Risk Asset Ratio increased to 21.10 percent, and aggregate business reached an all-time high of 1,97,006.62 crore rupees.

Managing Director and CEO Raghavendra S Bhat attributed the results to sustainable growth and prudent financial management. Executive Director Biji SS stated that the bank is strengthening business fundamentals through risk management and governance.
