India Accuses Pakistan of Killing 90 Civilians in PoJK

The Ministry of External Affairs of India condemned Pakistan for the ongoing oppression of civilians in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), reporting that Pakistani forces have killed at least 90 people. During a press briefing in New Delhi on August 4, spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called on the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for these atrocities.

Jaiswal dismissed recent local elections in PoJK as a "complete farce," asserting that such exercises cannot hide the reality of public protests and killings. India further urged Pakistan to dismantle terrorist infrastructure on its soil and take decisive action against cross-border terrorism.

These remarks highlighted a contrast between the stability in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the reported unrest and civil liberty restrictions in PoJK, occurring seven years after the abrogation of Article 370.
