CMA CGM Revenue Rises 19.2 Percent in Second Quarter 2026

CMA CGM reported second-quarter revenue of $15.7 billion, driven by preventive inventory stockpiling and a rebound in Chinese exports to the United States.

CMA CGM reported a 19.2 percent increase in total revenue to $15.7 billion for the second quarter of 2026. Net income rose approximately 48 percent to an estimated $770 million, while the container shipping segment saw revenue grow 22 percent to nearly $10 billion. Transported volumes reached 6.3 million TEUs, representing a 6 percent increase over the same period in 2025.

Chief Financial Officer Ramon Fernandez attributed the growth to businesses reconstituting their stocks to avoid supply chain disruptions caused by conflict and potential fuel surcharges. This surge in shipping volumes and higher freight rates, which averaged $1,575 per 20-foot equivalent unit, was further bolstered by a rebound in Chinese exports to the United States.

Fernandez warned that while these effects would likely continue into the third quarter, inflation could potentially dampen consumer demand and bring the current period of preventive stockpiling to an end.
