Lagos State Begins 35-Day Ozumba Mbadiwe Road Rehabilitation

The Lagos State Government will start a 35-day rehabilitation of Ozumba Mbadiwe Road on October 19, implementing contraflow traffic arrangements to manage congestion.

The Government of Lagos State will begin a 35-day rehabilitation project on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road starting Monday, October 19, 2026. The construction covers the stretch from Adetokunbo Ademola Street and the Civic Centre to Samuel Manuwa Street.

To maintain vehicle flow, the government will implement a contraflow arrangement on the Lagos-bound side of the road while work is conducted on the opposite lane. Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi issued a traffic advisory providing alternative routes for motorists traveling from Eko Hotel, Falomo, and Bonny Camp to minimize congestion.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority will deploy officers to coordinate movement and reduce disruptions. Officials have implored motorists to plan their movement ahead and cooperate with the interventions put in place to ease traffic.
