Sweetgreen Raises Manager Pay to Over $200,000 Annually

Sweetgreen is implementing a new compensation plan that offers high-performing restaurant managers over $200,000 per year through revenue-share bonuses and stock grants.

Sweetgreen announced a new compensation and incentive plan for the upcoming year that allows restaurant managers at high-performing locations to earn more than $200,000 annually. The initiative introduces performance-based stock grants and a revenue-share bonus for leaders who exceed their sales goals.

To qualify for the highest pay bands, managers must possess at least three years of experience. The company is implementing these changes to improve training and talent retention as it approaches a total of 300 restaurant locations.

Chief Operating Officer Jason Cochran stated the move positions the chain in the top tier of restaurant compensation for general managers. CEO Jonathan Neman noted that the company is betting on its head coaches to build the business, describing the restaurant industry as an engine of opportunity.
