The artificial intelligence firm departed from traditional total addressable market calculations by basing its figure on the estimated economic value of work performed by global knowledge workers in 2025.
The company stated that frontier AI has the potential to make these workers more productive, which would expand this value and accelerate economic growth. This estimate surpasses a previous $28.5 trillion market opportunity projection by SpaceX.
While current revenue for the company is measured in billions, Anthropic cited International Data Corporation estimates that AI solutions and services will create a cumulative global economic impact of $22.5 trillion by 2031. The company asserted that the actual impact could be even greater.
