Airtasker Launches ChatGPT Plugin for Local Service Bookings
Airtasker launched a ChatGPT plugin and MCP server allowing users to list and assign local service jobs directly within AI chat interfaces.
Local services marketplace Airtasker launched a ChatGPT plugin and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server on August 14, 2026. The integration allows users to create, list, and assign local service jobs entirely within an AI chat interface using natural language. ChatGPT generates the task descriptions and suggests budgets based on user input, while gig workers can browse available jobs and submit offers without leaving the chat.
For advanced users, the MCP server enables connectivity with other AI agents, including Claude, Cursor, and OpenClaw. CEO Tim Fung stated that the tool closes the gap between using AI for planning and the actual execution of physical tasks.
To incentivize adoption, Airtasker is offering ChatGPT users a $50 discount on tasks of at least $200 posted through the connector. This promotional offer remains available until September 13, 2026.
