Texas Tribune Expands Sample Ballot Tool for Local Races
The Texas Tribune expanded its sample ballot tool to include local races and initiatives for the 50 most populous counties in Texas.
The Texas Tribune expanded its sample ballot tool on October 5, 2026, to include local races and initiatives for the upcoming November election. While the tool previously focused on statewide, congressional, and legislative districts, it now provides personalized data for the 50 most populous counties in Texas, covering more than 85% of registered voters.
The expanded tool provides information on local propositions, bond elections, city charter changes, and various positions, including school board trustees and constables. This update arrives on the final day for voter registration and precedes the start of in-person early voting on October 19.
As part of the rollout, two local newsrooms launched by the Tribune, The Waco Bridge and Austin Current, will publish their own versions of the tool this week to provide further localized election data.
