Google Launches Conversational AI Voice Tools for Workspace
Google integrated Gemini Audio models into Gmail, Docs, and Keep to enable conversational voice assistance and automated content organization for mobile users.
Google launched three new voice-powered AI features—Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live—integrating Gemini Audio models into its Workspace applications. These tools shift voice interaction from basic dictation to conversational assistance, rolling out this week in English for iOS and Android devices.
Gmail Live enables users to search their inboxes using natural-language questions. Docs Live functions as a writing partner capable of brainstorming, outlining, and pulling data from Gmail, Drive, Chat, and the web to generate structured drafts. Keep Live organizes spoken stream-of-consciousness thoughts and brain dumps into actionable notes and lists.
Access to the features depends on the user's subscription level. Gmail Live is available to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, while Docs Live and Keep Live are restricted to Pro and Ultra users. Google announced that these tools will be extended to Workspace business customers in the near future.
