Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka signaled that the Opposition could accept the 2027 General Election results and potentially collaborate with President William Ruto if the contest is free and fair. Speaking at a church service in Bondo, Musyoka called for a united official opposition and criticized the National Assembly as having been "captured." He also defended retired President Uhuru Kenyatta against allegations that the former leader is financing the Opposition, arguing that campaigns rely on broad networks of allies.
Simultaneously, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula challenged Uhuru Kenyatta following the former president's claim that Raila Odinga won the 2022 presidential election. During a service in Tana River County, Wetang’ula questioned why Kenyatta handed power to Ruto at the Kasarani Stadium inauguration if he believed the results were rigged.
Wetang’ula characterized Kenyatta's remarks as unhelpful and warned that reopening disputes over the 2022 results—which were upheld by the Supreme Court—could fuel political divisions ahead of the 2027 vote. He urged the former president to respect the Constitution and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission while calling for dialogue to maintain national stability.
