Equinor Triples Third Quarter Profit to $2.86 Billion

Equinor reported a tripled adjusted net income for the third quarter of 2026 and raised its annual production growth guidance to 4 percent.

Equinor reported a tripled adjusted net income of $2.86 billion for the third quarter of 2026, rising from $932 million during the same period last year. The surge resulted from high oil and natural gas prices, strong refining margins, and a 2 percent year-over-year increase in oil and gas production to 2.166 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Regional conflicts in the Middle East drove the price increases. European gas prices rose 75 percent compared to the previous year due to LNG supply shortages from Qatar and disruptions at the Strait of Hormuz caused by the Iran war. Realized liquids prices rose 42 percent to $92.3 per barrel as oil prices remained above $100 per barrel since early September.

Following these results, Anders Opedal, President and CEO of Equinor, increased the company's 2026 production growth guidance from 3 percent to approximately 4 percent.
