Apple revealed the HomeView, a smart home digital hub priced starting at A$449. The device features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and an A18 chip, with a physical design inspired by the classic iMac G4. It is available in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space grey.
The hub utilizes facial and voice recognition to support up to six users, allowing the device to deliver personalized messages and reminders. For communication, the HomeView includes a FaceTime camera with Centre Stage that physically follows the user during video calls.
Despite the hardware specifications, the device operates under significant software restrictions. It lacks a third-party App Store and relies on built-in Apple applications and an upgraded Siri voice assistant.
