McDonald's opened a new restaurant in Witham, Essex, on October 7, 2026. Located in Gershwin Park at Unit 1 Griggs Way, the facility creates approximately 100 full and part-time jobs for the local community.
The site was built under the McDonald's Reimaging programme, utilizing a modern layout with dedicated ordering zones and an improved kitchen design to increase efficiency for staff and delivery drivers. The restaurant provides seating for 120 people and offers dine-in, takeaway, Drive Thru, Click & Serve, and McDelivery services, as well as an on-site Play Place.
Sustainability features are integrated into the building's design, including solar panels, environmentally certified steel, and a modular structure intended for future reuse. The restaurant's wall lettering is constructed from recycled materials, including used coffee grounds. Local franchisee Ahmet Mustafa, who operates 19 restaurants across Essex, stated that the company is committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds.
