China and Kyrgyzstan Expand Infrastructure and Green Energy Ties
China and Kyrgyzstan expanded cooperation in infrastructure and green energy, reaching record bilateral trade of $27.2 billion in 2025.
The Government of China and the Government of Kyrgyzstan have expanded practical cooperation across infrastructure, trade, and green energy sectors. Bilateral trade in goods reached a record $27.2 billion in 2025, representing a 20 percent year-on-year increase.
Key infrastructure projects include the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the Barskoon-Bedel Highway, which is scheduled for completion in 2030 to serve as a third international land transport route. To support these efforts, Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd. supplied electric engineering machinery for the railway and municipal projects in Karakol, following the establishment of a local subsidiary in November 2025.
Environmental and energy initiatives are also expanding. China Road and Bridge Corporation constructed wastewater treatment plants in Cholpon-Ata and Balykchy, while other projects include a waste-to-energy facility in Bishkek and a large-scale photovoltaic power plant in Chuy Province.
