CoreWeave Partners with Leidos for U.S. Government AI Services
CoreWeave Holdings Inc. partnered with Leidos Holdings to provide artificial intelligence cloud services to U.S. federal agencies, including the Department of Defense.
CoreWeave Holdings Inc. announced a partnership with Leidos Holdings on July 30 to deliver artificial intelligence cloud services to United States federal agencies. The collaboration is designed to help the U.S. Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense deploy and operate AI at mission scale.
The announcement triggered a 21.5% intraday rise in CoreWeave stock. The company aims to diversify its customer base and secure financial stability through long-term government contracts, which comes amid a period of significant growth and financial volatility. CoreWeave reported a 111.6% year-over-year surge in first-quarter revenue to $2.08 billion, though it continues to manage widening losses and high capital expenditures.
This strategic move occurs as CoreWeave faces emerging competition. Meta Platforms, Inc., currently a customer of the cloud provider, is reportedly entering the neocloud business, positioning itself as a potential rival in the specialized AI infrastructure market.
