Samsung Galaxy S27 Leaks Reveal Battery and Camera Upgrades

Samsung Electronics is planning significant battery capacity upgrades for its upcoming Galaxy S27 series, according to leaked specifications. The Galaxy S27 Ultra may feature a rated capacity of 5,534 mAh, which would likely be marketed as 5,700 mAh or 5,800 mAh. This would end a six-year trend of 5,000 mAh cells used in Ultra models since the Galaxy S20 Ultra in 2020.

Leaks also suggest the introduction of a new Galaxy S27 Pro model with a rated battery capacity of 5,087 mAh, potentially advertised as 5,200 mAh. These improvements are attributed to the adoption of silicon-carbon anode technology, which provides higher energy density within the same physical footprint. Samsung has previously integrated this technology into its latest foldable devices.

Reports from GalaxyClub provide the most detailed figures on these capacities, though other leakers remain divided on whether capacities will change. Beyond power upgrades, some reports indicate the S27 and S27 Pro may replace Samsung's proprietary ISOCELL camera sensors with components from Sony. The Galaxy S27 series is expected to be officially revealed during a Galaxy Unpacked event in February 2027.
