AerFin Acquires 44 Boeing 737s from Qantas Airways

AerFin agreed to acquire 44 Boeing 737NG aircraft and 88 engines from Qantas in the largest transaction in the asset management company's history.

AerFin agreed on November 4, 2026, to acquire 44 Boeing 737NG aircraft and 88 CFM56-7B engines from Qantas Airways. The aircraft will be transferred to AerFin over a seven-year period starting in 2026. AerFin described the deal as the largest transaction in its history, noting that the acquisition expands its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region and increases its capacity to provide aircraft materials and aftermarket solutions to global airline and maintenance, repair, and overhaul customers.

For Qantas, the agreement facilitates the retirement of the majority of its 737 fleet. Markus Svensson, CEO of Qantas Domestic, stated that the deal provides the airline with flexibility to adjust retirement timing as it integrates up to 24 new aircraft this year. He noted that while the 737s have been the workhorse of the domestic operation, they will fly alongside a growing fleet of next-generation aircraft.

Simon Goodson, CEO of AerFin, said the completion of the deal demonstrates the scale of the company's ambition and the confidence the market has in its ability to deliver.
