OKXICE Files to Launch 24/7 Tokenized US Stock Platform
OKXICE filed with the SEC to launch a platform enabling round-the-clock trading of tokenized US stocks for over 60 listed companies.
OKXICE, a joint venture between cryptocurrency exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Sunday to launch a tokenized securities platform. The proposed system would enable 24/7 trading of US stocks for more than 60 listed companies.
The filing follows a recent SEC exemption allowing the offer of blockchain-based or tokenized securities. This regulatory shift occurred shortly after cryptocurrency legislation backed by President Donald Trump failed to pass in the Senate.
Co-chair of OKXICE and former Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo described the move as "a landmark step toward a truly global, 24/7 Wall Street." Other major global exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq, and the London Stock Exchange, are also preparing to implement round-the-clock trading in the coming months.
