Palantir Exceeds Revenue Estimates as Commercial AI Demand Surges
Palantir Technologies raised its annual revenue guidance after third-quarter results showed U.S. commercial revenue surpassing government contracts for the first time.
Palantir Technologies reported third-quarter revenue of $2.31 billion, surpassing Wall Street estimates of $2.18 billion. The company's net income more than doubled year-over-year to $1.13 billion, with adjusted earnings per share reaching 44 cents.
In a significant shift, U.S. commercial revenue surged 148% to $984 million, exceeding U.S. government revenue of $953 million for the first time. This growth is driven by increased business adoption of the company's artificial intelligence tools and data analytics software. Consequently, the company raised its full-year U.S. commercial revenue guidance to over $3.56 billion and increased total annual revenue expectations to a range of $8.530 billion to $8.534 billion.
CEO Alex Karp attributed the financial success to the company's AI results and noted that the business has essentially doubled since the same quarter last year. Looking forward, Palantir forecast fourth-quarter revenue between $2.649 billion and $2.653 billion, beating analyst estimates of $2.46 billion. Karp also used the results to reiterate calls for the nationalization of AI labs to better manage liability.
