Partners Group Names Co-CEOs Amid Profit and Revenue Slump
Partners Group Holding AG appointed Roberto Cagnati and Juri Jenkner as co-CEOs for 2027 as the firm faces declining profits and performance income.
Partners Group Holding AG appointed Roberto Cagnati and Juri Jenkner as co-chief executive officers, effective January 1, 2027. They will succeed David Layton, who has served as CEO for eight years and will transition to the roles of chief investment officer and chairman of the global investment committee.
The leadership change follows a period of financial instability. The firm reported a 13% decrease in profit to 502 million Swiss francs and a 39% decline in first-half performance income to 216 million Swiss francs. Total revenue fell 7% to 1.12 billion Swiss francs, missing analyst estimates and triggering a 7.7% drop in share price to 676.40 Swiss francs on Tuesday.
Management has faced several challenges this year, including a short-seller attack and a June decision to cap redemptions from a flagship private-markets fund due to high investor demand. Client withdrawals from evergreen funds also increased amid a global drop in confidence in private markets. Consequently, the firm lowered its 2026 performance income guidance to 20-25% of total revenue, down from a previous estimate of 25-40%.
Despite these declines, management income rose to 905 million francs and assets under management increased to $186.0 billion.
