Trisura Group Reports Q3 Operating Net Income Growth

Trisura Group increased third-quarter operating net income to C$35.0 million, driven by investment and primary insurance gains despite underwriting losses in the United States.

Trisura Group Ltd. reported a 1.7% increase in third-quarter 2026 operating net income to C$35.0 million. Operating earnings per share rose 2.8% to C$0.73, supported by an 18.5% increase in net investment income and a 12.9% rise in primary insurance lines, specifically corporate insurance and surety.

These gains offset an 8.6% decline in underwriting income, which fell to C$25.2 million. The decrease resulted from lower revenue in Canadian Fronting and unfavorable casualty claims within the company's U.S. Programs segment. As a result, the combined ratio increased to 87.5% from 86.0% in the previous year.

While operating metrics showed growth, reported net income dropped 32.1% to C$26.2 million. This decline was attributed to the exit of specific business lines and various non-operating items.
