Banque du Caire to List 30% of Shares on Egyptian Exchange
Banque du Caire plans to list 30% of its shares on the Egyptian Exchange as part of a state-led economic reform program.
State-owned Banque du Caire announced plans on October 11, 2026, to list 30% of its shares on the Egyptian Exchange. The offering involves a secondary sale of 4.575 billion existing shares currently held by its parent company, Banque Misr.
The deal is divided into two tranches: a public offering for Egyptian retail investors and a private placement for global qualified institutional investors, including US buyers under Rule 144A. Subscription is scheduled for late October, with trading expected to begin in November, pending approval from the Egyptian Exchange and the Financial Regulatory Authority.
This IPO aligns with Egypt's commitment under an International Monetary Fund loan program to reduce the state's role in the economy through the sale of state assets. As of June 30, 2026, the bank reported total assets of EGP 561.22 billion.
