Airbnb Revenue Jumps 19 Percent to 4.9 Billion Dollars
Airbnb reported its fastest growth rate in three years with third-quarter revenue rising 19 percent to 4.9 billion dollars.
Airbnb reported a 19 percent increase in third-quarter revenue to 4.9 billion dollars, marking the company's fastest growth rate in three years. This surge was driven by a 16 percent increase in nights and seats booked across its portfolio of homes, hotels, experiences, and services.
Company leadership attributed the momentum to strong global demand and updates to the product roadmap, specifically improvements to pricing tools, search, merchandising, and flexible payments. The results follow previous comments from CEO Brian Chesky, who stated he was "not happy" with the company's growth.
Airbnb's performance outpaced its primary competitors. Expedia Group reported 12 percent revenue growth, while Booking Holdings Inc. saw a 1 percent decline. The dip for Booking Holdings resulted from a 1 billion dollar accounting charge related to a potential settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over allegedly deceptive practices.
