Gautam Adani and Randeep Hooda Lead Assam Flood Relief

Severe flooding in Assam has resulted in 82 deaths and left an estimated 1.92 lakh people affected across districts including Sivasagar, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, and Charaideo. In response, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, donated Rs 11 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support state rehabilitation efforts. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged the contribution, stating it would strengthen the government's relief operations.

Complementing the financial aid, the Adani Foundation—supported by Adani Smart Meter and Guwahati International Airport Limited—launched a relief program in Upper Assam. This initiative provides food, medicine, and sanitation kits to approximately 8,000 families in the Silapathar area of Dhemaji district and 14 villages within the Nazira Sub-Division of Sivasagar district.

Simultaneously, actor Randeep Hooda partnered with the NGO Global Sikhs to distribute rations, mattresses, and toiletries to displaced families operating from the Sivasagar railway station. Hooda urged the public to contribute financial support or direct involvement to aid the affected population, emphasizing that humanity is above everything else.
