Robinhood Launches AI Agentic Trading for Retail Portfolios
Robinhood introduced a new feature allowing retail customers to use agentic AI to build and manage ring-fenced investment portfolios via a subscription-based data protocol.
Robinhood launched a trading account feature that enables retail customers to employ agentic AI to build and manage investment portfolios. To protect primary assets, these AI-managed funds are ring-fenced from users' main accounts.
The platform supports multiple AI agent providers and utilizes a subscription-based Model Context Protocol to link agents with external data points for decision-making. While users are currently in an experimental phase with the tool, the company reports that active traders remain highly engaged despite a calm VIX.
Robinhood also noted a broader shift in customer behavior toward long-term investing. The company currently holds over $34 billion in retirement accounts and $2 billion in managed strategies, although many users continue to maintain separate accounts for high-risk, high-reward investments.
