Ryanair Invests $600 Million to Expand Liverpool Airport Operations

Ryanair is investing $600 million to expand its operations at Liverpool John Lennon Airport as part of its Winter 2026 schedule. The expansion includes basing a sixth aircraft at the airport and launching six new routes to Milan Bergamo, Copenhagen, Gdansk, Porto, Tirana, and Warsaw.

These additions will increase seat capacity by 11 percent and bring the airport's total route count to 27. The airline also plans to increase flight frequencies to existing destinations such as Krakow, Kaunas, and Cork. These measures are intended to push 2026 annual traffic above 2.6 million passengers.

To mark the announcement, the airline launched a limited-time seat sale starting at £29.99, though it cautioned that rising fuel costs could lead to higher fares in the future. Airport leadership welcomed the investment, noting that the growth serves passengers across the Northwest and North Wales.
