Applied Digital Secures 1 Gigawatt Power Capacity in Finland
Applied Digital Corporation agreed to secure up to 1 gigawatt of power in Finland to build its first international AI Factory campus.
Applied Digital Corporation entered into an agreement to secure up to 1 gigawatt of potential power capacity in Finland to develop a large-scale AI Factory campus. This project represents the company's first international development outside of the United States, with initial power availability expected to begin in 2028.
CEO Wes Cummins stated that Finland was selected because its favorable climate, energy ecosystem, and digital connectivity mirror the characteristics that supported the company's success in North Dakota. He described the expansion as a deliberate first step to extend the company's growth runway rather than a shift in overall strategy.
Applied Digital has already begun marketing the site to global hyperscale customers. However, the company noted that future investment in the campus will depend on commercial milestones, regulatory requirements, and customer demand. The company continues to prioritize its existing development pipeline within the United States.
